London --:--Start a project

Selected work

Identities, websites and products for 16 companies that move fast.

All 16 projects

Four disciplines, one team.

Brand identity, websites, digital product and film, designed and built by the same thirty-four people in Clerkenwell and Lisbon. What each one includes, how long it takes and what it costs.

A designer laying out a finished identity: poster, business cards, letterhead, swatches and a tote on the studio table

For founders before a raise or a relaunch, and for companies whose brand no longer matches the product. We start with what you stand for and finish with a system your team can use without us.

What it costs

Ranges from the projects we ran in the last three years. Pick what you need and the range moves; send it to us as the first line of a brief. Every proposal has a fixed fee per phase, agreed before work starts.

What do you need?
Where is the company?

We would start with a two-week audit of what you have.

A range, not a quote. We confirm a fixed fee after a first conversation.

How a project runs

A typical identity and website: twelve weeks, four phases, one team. Every Thursday, for forty-five minutes, we show you the work, finished or not.

  1. DiscoverWeeks 1–2

    • Week 1Kick-off and listening

A half-day workshop in either studio. Then we interview ten of your customers and the people who answer your support inbox.

    • Week 2The audit wall

Every screen, email, receipt and ad you use, printed and pinned to one wall. The gaps show up by the second afternoon.

  2. DefineWeeks 3–4

    • Week 3Finding the sentence

Positioning drafts and a map of the category you want to stand apart from. Naming starts here if you need it.

    • Week 4A brief we both sign

One sentence everyone in the company can repeat without a slide, and a one-page brief every later decision is checked against.

  3. DesignWeeks 5–9

    • Week 5Three routes, sketched

Identity exploration starts alongside the site: what it has to say, to whom, and in which order.

    • Week 6Routes on the wall

Three identity routes, each shown on your real touchpoints: the app screen, the shopfront, the launch post. Not on mood boards.

    • Week 7One route, moving

You choose; we refine. The mark gets its motion rules, and the site gets wireframes built from the signed brief.

    • Week 8Identity sign-off

Logo, type and colour are fixed. Engineers join full time and the website is designed inside the new system.

    • Week 9Website design review

Key pages in a clickable prototype on your own phone. The motion system is finished and written down.

  4. DeliverWeeks 10–12

    • Week 10Build week

The site is built in Sanity, Shopify or Webflow and your real content goes in. Guidelines are written alongside.

    • Week 11Rehearsal

Content freeze, testing on thirty real devices, a launch rehearsal and a training session for whoever runs the site.

    • Week 12Launch

We go live on a Tuesday, never a Friday. Analytics are checked on day one and the first month of support begins.

Before you ask

Anything else, ask a partner directly: new@orvel.studio

  • A fixed fee for each phase, set once discovery is done and we both know what the project really is. Discovery itself is two paid weeks for £8k, credited if you go ahead. We invoice monthly against the plan, so the money follows the work.

  • Two rounds of revisions are built into every phase. Anything new, a market, a product line, a second site, is priced in a one-page change note before we start it. You decide, not a timesheet.

  • £1,200 for a partner and £950 for a senior designer or engineer. We use them for small pieces of work after launch, never to top up a fixed fee.

  • Photography, typefaces, music and media buying, at cost and quoted up front. Everything is licensed in your company’s name.

  • Thirty days of support are included. After that most clients keep a retainer, from £6k a month for four studio days, booked a quarter at a time with thirty days’ notice. Unused days roll over for one month, and you keep the same people.

  • Yes. About a third of our clients are pre-launch or have just raised. We usually start with naming and positioning and keep the first phase small, so the brand can grow with the company rather than ahead of it.

  • Often. We handed design systems to in-house teams at Corso and Kinro, and worked next to a performance agency on Halfpace. Who owns what is agreed in week one and written into the brief.

  • We don’t do free creative pitches: the work would be a guess. We meet, send a proposal with a fixed fee per phase, and if you want proof first, the paid discovery is the honest version of a pitch.

  • You do, in full, once the final invoice is paid. You get every working file, not just the exports.

  • Yes. Seven engineers across London and Lisbon build everything we design, usually on Sanity, Shopify or Webflow. We don’t outsource build.
